    Abstract: This interactive professional development session, AI Foundations I, is designed to equip educators with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in artificial intelligence (AI) for education. The workshop covers AI fundamentals, practical tools for the classroom, and ethical considerations in AI integration. Participants will explore AI-generated content, experiment with AI-driven lesson planning, and engage in discussions on the evolving role of AI in education. Through live demonstrations and guided activities, educators will gain strategies to enhance teaching and learning with AI while fostering digital literacy among students.

    Bio: Chris Ippolito is a dynamic STEM educator, instructional designer, and AI professional development instructor with over 16 years of international experience in educational technology. Specializing in generative AI, project-based learning, and curriculum innovation, Chris has designed and led award-winning STEM, robotics, and digital media programs in the U.S., Costa Rica, and Mexico. As the founder of AI Powered PD, Chris provides hands-on AI training for educators, helping them integrate artificial intelligence into teaching practices to enhance creativity, efficiency, and student engagement. His workshops focus on AI ethics, digital citizenship, and practical classroom applications, empowering teachers to navigate the evolving educational landscape with confidence. Beyond education, Chris co-hosts Up Against Reality, a podcast exploring AI's impact on creativity, ethics, and society. He is currently completing a Master’s in Educational Technology at NJCU and continues to push the boundaries of tech-driven learning experiences.
